ASPCA Recommends

In this photograph released by Laura Tomasetti Assoc., veterinarian Jennifer Lander with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals examines a kitten in New York.

The ASPCA recommends all kittens be tested for feline immunodeficiency virus, the feline version of HIV, and leukemia, as part of their initial health check. The ASPCA estimates that 31 million cats in the U.S. are at risk for these diseases, but both are treatable. (AP Photo/Laura Tomasetti Assoc., Stuart Ramson)"
